What is SCRIP
and how does it work?
It’s simple. Instead of writing a check at
Kroger or Kohl’s, or giving cash to Wendy’s,
you can purchase SCRIP certificates from us. They
are purchased dollar for dollar, AND you earn tuition
credit.
It’s
that easy!!
SCRIP gift certificates are from
national and local retailers. They’re the
same gift certificates that you buy at the store.
Many popular retailers and restaurants participate
in our SCRIP program including Bob Evans, Old Navy,
Speedway, Red Lobster and many, many others. See

SCRIP is exciting, because
everybody wins:
- The retailer
gets cash up front and repeats business
- We get a powerful
fundraising alternative that involves no selling
- Our school gets
a regular source of revenue to be used for our
children.
- And best of all,
YOU receive 75% of the profit you earn toward
your 2005 – 2006 tuition
This is a
great way to help defer the cost of your future
tuition.
- Scrip/Tuition
Credit is open to all SMM families and SMM parishioners.
Family and friends can purchase SCRIP and request
you receive credit. Parishioners may target a
specific SMM family, or if no family is targeted,
the credit will be applied to the General Fund
in the Tuition Assistance Program.
- Families who
have a student in 8th grade and no other student
at SMM will receive credit toward Catholic High
School tuition their Freshman year. Families that
will not be returning the next school year, or,
families that leave during the current school
year will forfeit any tuition credit they have
accumulated.
- Statements will
be mailed out to families telling them the status
of their tuition credit at the end of each grading
period. The final statement will be sent to families
in May letting them know the total of tuition
credit they have earned.
- Magdalene Money
Certificates and Scrip Certificates are now combined.
- Any family that
receives over $600.00 in tuition credit will be
issued a 1099 tax form.
Last year, over $7,000.00
was credited toward tuition for the 2004 –
2005 school year.
