FROM THE PRINCIPAL
We have closed three classes and enrollment for next year has already surpassed this year. This is a sign of the strength of our school and the solid partnership we have with our families. May is almost here and is jammed with activities, trips, and events. Please join us as we celebrate Spring and the culmination of a wonderful year. It is also great that we can have the Ten Commandments proudly displayed on our walls and Bibles on our desks.
FACTS Tuition Payment Plan
FACTS Tuition Payment plan applications were sent home with students last Friday. If you plan to use the monthly tuition payment plan and did not receive the form, please call the school office.
ART NEWS
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!!! Did you know that many times the things you throw in the trash could be reused into artwork? The Art Department is in need of glass jars (pickle, pasta, salsa…etc). Please remove the label and run them through the dishwasher to get rid of the odor. We are also in need of Pringle Canisters for a secret Christmas project! Thank you for your help!
FLOWER SALE
The Home and School Flower Sale ends Monday, April 21. All order forms need to be turned in at this time. NO ORDER FORM WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER APRIL 23!! Again, this year there will be one Grand Prize for the family who sells the most flowers: A choice between 4 Season Passes to Zoombezi Bay Water Park at the Columbus Zoo, an overnight stay at Great Wolf Lodge in Cincinnati for up to 6, or $250.00 in Tuition Credit for the upcoming school year. There will also be Mystery Cash Candy Bars – for every three items sold your family will receive one candy bar. Thirty mystery candy bars will have cash hidden in them. Pickup is Saturday, May 10 on the Westside of school/church. Payment is due at pickup. Checks can be made out to SMM H&S. NO FLOWERS WILL BE HELD PAST 1:15.
SMM GARDEN CLUB
Upcoming events you have been anxiously awaiting!!! Our annual Spring Clean-up is Saturday, April 26 at 9:00a.m. with breakfast of coffee and donuts. Our Annual Spring Planting is Saturday, May 10 at 9:00 a.m. – lunch will be served!! Meet at the Rectory Garage. Please bring necessary tools, gloves and a friend to both events. PARISH PASTA NIGHT
Please join the SMM “family” for the 1st annual Parish Pasta Night, Sunday May, 4 from 5 – 7 in the Church Hall. Menu includes Spaghetti with Marinara Sauce, Homemade Italian Meatballs, Italian Sausage with Peppers and Onions, Shrimp Scampi, Italian Dinner Salad, Italian Bread served with Dipping Oil, Beverage and Dessert. Adults (12 and over), $10. Seniors, $9. Children ages 5 – 11, $5. Children under 5, free. Takeout available.
ART SHOW 2007/2008
Please join us on May 4 in the Church Basement after the Sunday Masses, to enjoy coffee, donuts…and ART from all grades K- 8!! The 8th grade will be having a silent auction on some of their fabulous work! Proceeds will benefit the Art Department! Then, later that night reserve your seat for the delicious Parish Pasta Night!...and continue to enjoy the ART!
HAT DRIVE FOR CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
St. Mary Magdalene Student Council will be sponsoring a “new” hat collection for patients of Children’s Hospital. The dates for the hat collection are April 9th through April 30th. The hats can be of any size or style BUT MUST BE NEW. The hats can be dropped off at the school office or Mrs. Byrom’s classroom. Please help us reach our goal number of 200 “new” hats. Thank you for helping us helps others.
MEMORIAL BRICK GARDEN
The Saint Mary Magdalene Memorial Brick Garden is a wonderful way to celebrate and honor past, present and future members of our parish and school community. Each brick can contain three lines with each line containing thirteen characters. The cost for each brick is $50.00 or two for $75.00. You can obtain an order form at the display in the church gathering space, online at www.saintmarymag.org or in the school office. Please contact Meg Cline at 853-3067 with any questions.
