Please notice that Terra Nova results for your child have been included with the grade cards. If you have any questions, feel free to ask the teachers or me about them.
Next week's newsletter will be the final hard copy print. With the availability online, we feel this will save time and resources. Plus, we have noticed the we receive many phone calls regarding information in the

Ben Dawson was not included in last week’s newsletter as one of the Geography Bee Finalists. Congratulations Ben and Good Luck to all of the finalists! Results will be in next week’s newsletter.
Forms for the Super Bowl Pizza – Sub Sale were due today. If you failed to turn it in, please send it in on Monday the 23rd. Order forms turned in after Monday will not be accepted.
Knights of Columbus Council 13581 will hold a Free Throw Contest during Phys Ed classes on Friday, January 27th. The contest is open to boys and girls ages 10 thru 14 by January 1, 2012.
If you know of any families who are interested in sending their children to our school, please encourage them to attend our Open House on Sunday, January 29th from 12:00 – 2:00pm. If you or if you know someone who has any questions, please call the school office, 279-9935.
Formal preparation has begun for our 7th and 8th grade Confirmation candidates. Please mark your calendars for these important dates: Monday, January 30th, 7:00 – 9:00pm mini-retreat for sponsors and candidates, Sunday, March 11, 2:00 – 5:00pm class for candidates in the church hall, Saturday, April 21, 6:00pm dinner for sponsors and candidates followed by Confirmation rehearsal and Sunday, April 22, 1:30pm Confirmation Mass. Parents, a flyer with information on applying for Diocesan Tuition Assistance for next school year was sent home with students on Friday, January 13. Applications must be submitted on line at www.factstuitionaid.com. There is a $25.00 application fee that needs to be paid electronically. The deadline is March 15, any applications or income verification materials that are received after the March 15 deadline will not be considered for the initial grant awards. Please start gathering your information now and have everything complete before March 15. If you have questions you can call Mary Ann graham in the school office.
Congratulations to the 3rd grade on winning the 2nd quarter Box Tops Competition! They turned in 839 Box Tops! Mr. Fumi will announce when their dress down will be. The 2nd quarter competition was a success with $250.00 earned for the school! Thank you so much for your support!! Please continue to turn in Box Tops…the 3rd quarter competition as already started!
Catholic Schools Weeks starts off this year on Sunday, January 29th with our 8th Grade students serving food from 3:00 – 9:00pm at Minelli’s Pizza on Wilson Road. Our first event at Minelli’s in December was a great success! Tips and 10% of all sales (including carryout – 279-3344) go toward the cost of the 8th grade class trip.
The following students are scheduled for patrol the week of January 23: Eddie Cofer, Carissa Dembinski, Evmy Duarte, Leo Dunkle, Ben Dawson, Sarah Rice (AM), Olivia Rowe (PM), Reggie Mitchell, Daris Martinez, Tayla Rooney, Audra Horton (AM), Ryan Smith (PM), and Darci Gillogly.
The following students are scheduled to serve mass the week of January 23: Anna Lowery and Kevin Morrison.
