Our Garden Club works very hard throughout the year to make the SMM grounds look attractive. Please consider contributing to their Holiday Cookie sale by bringing in 3-4 dozen Christmas cookies. Cookies need to be delivered on Friday, December 9 at the Rectory from 9:00 – 3:00 or the school office during school hours.
DON’T FORGET!!! SMM Pizza Night at Minelli’s Pizza and Restaurant (1189 N. Wilson Road), Sunday, December 4th from 3:00 – 9:00 SMM 8th Graders will service tables and receive 10% of all sales during this 6 hour period. Proceeds go toward the 8th grade class trip. You can dine in, pickup or have delivery. Take a break from Christmas shopping and the hectic pace of the season and join us for a relaxing meal. If you prefer, you can call in your order for pickup or delivery as well at 279-3344. Hope to see you on December 4th!
Congratulations to all of the SMM Students of the Thanksgiving Food Drive. Over 1,000 food items were donated by our students and their families. Miss Cotter’s 7th grade finished 1st and will receive a pizza party. Miss Moening’s 3rd grade finished 2nd and will receive a treat. The 8th grade Civics Club also donated Kroger gift cards to be distributed to families in need.
Please join us Sunday, December 18th at 3:00pm for our annual Parish Advent Concert featuring the St. Mary Magdalene Adult Choir and the St. Mary Magdalene Children’s Choir.
PREP High/Junior High students will meet Sunday, December 11th at 12 noon for Christmas Caroling at Hilltop Senior Village (Wilson Rd.) in the Community Room. Permission forms are required. They will be distributed to students December 5th. Please meet in the Community Room at Hilltop Senior Village at 12 noon. The residents are expecting to hear us sing from 12:30 to about 1:15. We will also distribute the cards and cookies that we made.
We will meet at 12 noon on Sunday, January 15th to make baby blankets for the needs and discuss the “Walking Stations of the Cross” which takes place on Good Friday in downtown Columbus.
So, please mark your calendar for December 11, January 15, February 19, March 19 and April 6 for PREP High events. As promised another dance is being planned.
If you know a high school student who is looking for service hours or if you are looking for an opportunity to serve our parish please consider one of the following activities planned. SMM Church cleaning is Saturday, December 10th beginning at 9:00am. Contact Mrs. Harrison if you would like to help with the Garden Club Cookie Sale after all Masses on December 10th and 11th. You are also welcome to help greet and usher those who are attending the SMM Advent Concert of December 18th. Please arrive early if you wish to help and stay late to help straighten up the church following the concert.
