SAINT MARY MAGDALENE NEWSLETTER

Issue #13                November 21, 2007

FROM THE PRINCIPAL

We have many activities planned for the coming season that you will be able to participate in.  Please check the website, newsletter and outside sign for dates and times of upcoming events.

SNOW, SNOW, SNOW

Winter is coming and that means snow!  We need lots of volunteers for snow removal around the church. Please call Amy Happ at 279-3553 to put your name on the list.  The more people that volunteer, the easier the job.  Thank you!

HOLIDAY RAFFLE

The 8th Grade Class is raffling off a trip for 2 to Las Vegas including air transportation, hotel, and $100 spending money.  Numerous other prizes will be awarded as well.  Tickets are $10 each and available from 8th graders, the school office and rectory.  Drawing is December 19th.  Ticket order forms were sent home earlier this week with students.

ST. MARY MAGDALENE CHOIR

Thinking about joining the choir?  Lend your God-given voice to give praise and worship to God!  St. Mary Magdalene Choir is looking for new members to join the ranks.  We are currently working on music for Advent and Christmas.  There are no auditions to join, and the ability to read music is not a requirement. If you are looking for a church ministry to share your talents, while contributing to a very important role in our church liturgy, look no further!  All are welcome! We sing at the 9:00 a.m. Mass, and our rehearsals are on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

MEMORIAL BRICK GARDEN

The Saint Mary Magdalene Memorial Brick Garden is a wonderful way to celebrate and honor past, present and future members of our parish and school community.  Each brick can contain three lines with each line containing thirteen characters.  The cost for each brick is $50.00 or two for $75.00.  You can obtain an order form at the display in the church gathering space, online at www.saintmarymag.org or in the school office.  Please contact Meg Cline at 853-3067 with any questions.

COAT DRIVE

SMM 8th annual Coat Drive will be held this year from October 29 – December 14.  Share the gift of warmth this winter.  Please bring clean, “gently used” or new children and adult winter coats, hats and gloves to the drop box located at the front school door.  All donations will be delivered to the West Side Free Store and distributed to the less fortunate.  There is a great need for these items this winter.  Please ask friends and family for donations.  If you have any questions, please call Sandy Bonneville, 875-5669.
