This past week we successfully completed a lock down drill. We take the safety of our students very seriously and will continue to provide as safe an environment as we possibly can for the children.
There will be two masses to celebrate All Saints Day. Grades K – 4 will go to Mass at 8:15 and grades 5 – 8 will go to Mass at 1:30. You are welcome to join us at either Mass that day.
A letter was sent home this past week regarding Parent/Teacher conferences. Your child’s teacher will be sending home an assigned time to meet with you. If you did not receive a letter, or have not heard from the teacher by the end of next week, please call the school office.
Because of conferences, we will have early dismissal on Friday, November 9 at 1:30.
Carolyn Kreinbrink will be available on Wednesday, November 7 to meet with parents who have questions regarding student’s tutoring.
The Art Department is in need of wooden rolling pins for a ceramic project. If you have any unused/old rolling pins that you would be willing to pass on it would be appreciated! Thank you! Mrs. Freeman
Make sure you and your little goblins join us this Sunday for the annual Trunk or Treat sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. Families wishing to decorate their cars should be on the school campus by 2:00. Trunk or Treating starts at 3:00 with a Halloween party in the Church Hall immediately following.
There is still time to place a Market Day order for this month’s sale. Orders will be accepted until Tuesday, October 29. Order forms can be turned in to the school office, or you can order online at www.marketday.com. Stock up now for those holiday dinners! Profits from this month’s sale will be used to help fund the annual 6th grade trip to Lutheran Memorial Camp.
Flyers were sent home last week asking families to purchase a Market Day pie to be donated to a local charity serving Thanksgiving dinner to needy families. Last year these programs helped over 300 families. Please consider sharing your blessings with those less fortunate. Order forms will be accepted through October 30th. CONGRATULATIONS to the Varsity Football and Varsity Volleyball teams for winning their respective leagues. Good luck to all the football and volleyball teams in their playoffs and tournaments.

The Youth Group Halloween party scheduled for October 28 has been rescheduled to Sunday, November 3rd.

The Saint Mary Magdalene Memorial Brick Garden is a wonderful way to celebrate and honor past, present and future members of our parish and school community. Each brick can contain three lines with each line containing thirteen characters. The cost for each brick is $50.00 or two for $75.00. SMM 8th annual Coat Drive will be held this year from October 29 – December 14. Share the gift of warmth this winter. Please bring clean, “gently used” or new children and adult winter coats, hats and gloves to the drop box located at the front school door. All donations will be delivered to the West Side Free Store and distributed to the less fortunate. There is a great need for these items this winter. Please ask friends and family for donations.
