SAINT MARY MAGDALENE NEWSLETTER

Issue 4 - September 18, 2009

FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Contrary to rumors, we DID NOT have a case of H1N1 here at school. We were notified of a 2nd grade student being tested, and as a precaution Mrs. Hockett took a day off because of the high risk to pregnant women. It turned out to be pneumonia. We will continue to do extra in the area of cleaning and disinfecting and in the event we do have a confirmed case of H1N1, I will notify all families.

SCHOOL SAFETY

Please be attentive and take precautions when dropping off and picking up your children.  Students should walk in the cross walk to get to the other side of Guernsey and Roys Avenues.  Several students have walked across in the middle of the street when cars are turning from Parkside or are walking in between cars after being dropped off on Roys which puts them in a dangerous situation.

FINGERPRINTING

Fingerprinting will take place at Bishop Ready High School on Wednesday, September 30 from 4:00 – 8:00pm.  Cost is $40.00.  Please remember, to volunteer and/or go on field trips with the children you must be fingerprinted.  There are no exceptions!!!
