With the increase in the
number of vehicles picking up and dropping off students, a few reminders.
Please only park or stop on the school side of Parkside. Parking on both sides
makes it tough for cars to get through. If you need to pick up a student at
Raymond Hall, please use the alley from Wicklow and the lanes created by the
cones. Cars will not be allowed to turn left from Roys. If you are picking up a
student on the Guernsey side of the school, please do not stop in the middle of
the street to pick up your child. Please
pull over and have your child cross at the cross walk to get to your car. All of these guidelines were put in place for
the safety of our children. Thanks!
All teens grades 7 – 12 are
invited to the Teen Cantina at the St. Stephen’s Festival this Friday and
Saturday, September 14 and 15 from 7pm – 11pm.
Admission is $1.00 per person.
There will be a DJ, Karaoke and Corn Hole. Food will be available for purchase.
Fundraiser packets went
home this week. All families should have
received one packet. If your family did
not receive a packet, please call the school office and we will send one home
to you. All forms and money are due on
Wednesday, September 26. NO ORDERS
WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER MONDAY, OCTOBER 1.
If you have any questions, please call Debbie Bush, 279-3829.
The Fall session of Parent
To Parent will be held on Tuesdays, October 2, 9, 16 & 23rd. Parents need to attend all 4 sessions to
complete the course. The program is a
video driven presentation with opportunity for group discussions. Parents of students in grades 6-8 may
register by calling the School Office at 279-9935. Depending on the number of parents, the
meetings will be held in the Teacher’s Lounge of the main school building.
Remember this program is required before your child enters 8th grade
at St. Mary Magdalene and at most Catholic High Schools in Columbus. Bishop Ready will accept your attendance of
the program at St. Mary Magdalene.
The fall sports schedule is
available on the SMM website by clicking SMM Athletics.
If you missed the Scout
Recruiting Night meeting, but would still like to be a Scout, it’s not too
late. Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts meet every Monday evening (except on Holidays)
at Parkview United Methodist Church, across Wicklow from Westgate Park between
Algonquin and Brinker. Although we meet at Parkview, this is a joint troop with
Saint Mary Magdalene, and many of the leaders are SMM parents. 1st
through 4th grade Cub Scouts meet from 7:00pm-8:00pm. 5th
grade Webelos Scouts and Boy Scouts (6th through 12th
grades) meet from 6:30pm-8:00pm. Please feel free to stop by any night and have
some fun. If you have questions, you can call Matt Montgomery at 279-9480 or
email him at mmontgomery@saintmarymag.org.
